Role Purpose
To lead and manage the Brand’s Marketing and Communications function of Metropolitan Lesotho and to assist the business with branding, marketing, and public relations initiatives to ensure the effective promotion and building of the Metropolitan Brand and to ensure effective communication to all relevant stakeholder groupings of the Brand. This role is also responsible for driving and executing comprehensive trade marketing initiatives that enhance brand visibility and increase market share.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Business Management.
- A Master’s/Honours degree in Marketing or Communications is an added advantage.
- Experience in the insurance and investment industry is essential.
Experience & Skills
- 6–9 years in financial services with focus on trade marketing, branding, PR, and communication.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong project management and analytical capabilities.
- Solid understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape.
- Proven ability to manage change and lead cross-functional collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership
- Design and execute marketing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Champion brand development and positioning across all platforms.
- Drive integrated campaigns (digital, print, events) to amplify brand impact.
Trade Marketing & Communication
- Lead comprehensive trade marketing plans to promote insurance and investment solutions.
- Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in tone and message.
- Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and crisis communication plans.
Public Relations & External Engagement
- Build strong relationships with media houses, brokers, clients, and strategic partners.
- Ensure continuous positive brand exposure and alignment with community and corporate values.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer centricity.
- Implement talent management, succession planning, and staff development strategies.
Governance & Budget Management
- Develop and manage marketing budgets with a focus on efficiency and impact.
- Ensure alignment with governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
