Job Title: Cleaning Supervisor
Report To: Head of Cultivation and Estate

Job Summary
The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the cannabis facility (offices, toilets, and shower blocks, common areas) are clean, sanitized, and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), health and safety, and cannabis regulatory standards. This position supervises a team of cleaners and ensures daily cleaning operations are completed efficiently, safely, and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff and their daily duties across the facility.
- Ensure all cleaning protocols and schedules are followed.
- Inspect work areas to ensure compliance with internal SOPs, GMP standards, and regulatory cleanliness requirements.
- Train new cleaning team members on safety, sanitation, and facility protocols.
- Manage cleaning supplies inventory; submit purchase requests when needed.
- Maintain detailed cleaning logs, checklists, and documentation as required by cannabis compliance regulations.
- Ensure safe use of cleaning chemicals and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any maintenance issues, contamination risks, or sanitation concerns to management promptly.
- Lead and conduct regular deep cleaning and sanitization schedules in high-risk areas.
- Monitor and evaluate cleaning staff performance and provide coaching or disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Ensure biosecurity and contamination prevention measures are always upheld.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a high school certificate
- Proven experience as a cleaning supervisor, preferably in a regulated industry
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards, health, and safety protocols.
- Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning duties and stand for long periods.
- Knowledge of biosecurity and contamination control is a strong asset.
