Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (Paterson Grade F1)

JOB PURPOSE
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic financial leadership to LPB as an Executive and Member of the Board. The CFO is responsible for ensuring sound financial management, long-term financial sustainability, and full compliance with applicable regulatory and governance frameworks. This role is central to shaping the Bank’s financial strategy, enhancing profitability, and supporting the achievement of its mandate.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Provides strategic financial leadership and contributes to the overall Bank’s strategy as a Board Executive.
- Develops, implements, and continuously reviews financial strategies aligned with the Bank’s vision, mandate, and growth objectives.
- Advises the Managing Director and Board on the financial implications of strategic initiatives and major investment decisions.
Financial Management
- Oversees the Bank’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Supports liquidity management, capital adequacy, and asset–liability management to ensure financial stability and sustainable growth.
- Ensures effective cost management and financial discipline across the Bank.
Financial Accounting
- Oversees accurate, complete, and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Maintains compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), banking regulations, and internal accounting policies.
- Oversees external audits and ensures timely resolution of audit findings.
Financial Reporting and Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Prepares and presents high-quality financial statements and management reports to the Managing Director, the Board, and relevant committees.
- Ensures transparency, accuracy, and integrity of financial information for internal decision-making and regulatory reporting.
- Strengthens financial reporting systems and data analytics to support strategic oversight.
Asset Management
- Safeguards, manages, and optimizes the Bank’s assets, including fixed assets and investments.
- Ensures appropriate asset valuation, depreciation, and impairment assessments in line with best practices and accounting standards.
Tax Management
- Ensures full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Oversees tax planning, filings, and payments, and manages tax risks effectively.
Board and Governance Engagement
- Provides timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to the Board to support effective oversight and decision-making.
- Actively participates in Board committees and governance structures as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (mandatory).
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or Chartered Accountant (CA) are mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years at executive or senior management level within banking or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing financial strategies that support growth, resilience, and sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, financial regulations, prudential standards, and risk management practices.
- Proven leadership capability with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High proficiency in financial systems, analytics tools, and finance-related digital transformation initiatives
