Professional Counsellor x 3

Professional Counsellor Main Duties

The duties of the post include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to patients, families, and staff.
  • Assess clients’ emotional, psychological, and social needs and develop tailored care plans.
  • Deliver counselling services related to HIV/AIDS, chronic illness, grief, trauma, gender-based violence, and other psychological issues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Counselling or social work with a minimum of 3 years working experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Training and experience in HIV/AIDS counselling, chronic illness, grief, trauma, gender-based violence, and other psychological issues.
  • Crisis inventions are highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, listening skills, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
