Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Maseru, Lesotho
Project Description:
FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Project Manager for the recently started, five-year Health Systems Strengthening, Primary Health Care, and Counter Gender Based Violence Support project in Lesotho funded by the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) which runs until the end of March 2029. The project focuses on sustainably improving primary health care service delivery, building the capacity of district health management teams (DHMTs), and the inclusion of gender-based violence (GBV), clinical treatment and response protocols in line with the requirements of the 2022 Domestic Violence Bill.
Accountabilities:
Project Management & Administration:
- Manages and oversees the development of projects from initiation to completion. Manages capacity building project staff in coordinating and managing the implementation of project activities, delivering quality and accountability.
- Develop and deliver a project management plan encompassing all the details of a project to the team members.
- Provide guidance and monitoring for project staff, ensuring clarity over project plans and priorities, and encouraging effective teamwork.
- Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals and strategic vision of management.
- Identifies and resolves project issues and implements improvement plans to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
- Author reports on the project for management and for funders.
Financial & Personnel Management:
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
- Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
- Coaches, mentors, and manages project team to ensure quality, efficiency and compliance with project and company standards/policies.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth or a Related Fields. Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
- Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices, 2+ years of line management experience required.
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
